How Amazon FBA fees work

Every FBA sale carries two per-unit fees. The referral fee is a percentage of the sale price, set by category (most are 15%; electronics 8%; clothing ~17%). The FBA fulfillment fee is a flat per-unit charge for pick, pack, and ship, set by the product's size tier and weight.

Those two are the easy part. The fees that quietly erode margin, and that this calculator deliberately leaves out, are the period-level ones: monthly storage, long-term storage surcharges on aged inventory, return processing, and advertising. Reconciling all of them per SKU is where most brands under-report their true Amazon cost by 3 to 8 percent.
